Port & Harbor Services

 

Potable Water: All water provided is potable.  Water is available year around at the Harbormaster’s Office, the Fish Dock, Deep Water Dock and Pioneer Dock.   Water is available from approx. May 1 to October 1 along A Float thru N Float, at the end of EE and FF Float, and one side of EE Float.   

Electricity:  110v, 220v and 208v electricity is available at various locations in the harbor.  Contact the Harbormaster’s Office before plugging in.   Winter power rates are available from October 16th to April 15th. 

Waste Oil, Filters, Oily Rags:  Waste oil collection sites are located on the uplands at Ramp 2 and Ramp 7 for small quantities of boat generated oil, filters, oily rags, sorbents.

Garbage & Batteries: Dumpsters are located throughout the harbor for boat generated trash.  Battery disposal boxes are located at the waste oil collection sites.

Fuel:  Two fuel floats are located within the harbor entrance.  Contact on VHF 16, 235-8548 or 235-4071 .

Fish Cleaning Tables:  Fish cleaning stations are located at the top of Ramp 4, Ramp 6 and at Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon.  Do not fillet your catch in the harbor basin. 

Sewage Pump Out:  “Eco barge” sewage pump out station is located at EE Float.  Small vessels’ sewage holding tanks and/or porta potties can be pumped at this facility.  Contact the Harbormaster’s Office for key and instructions.

Boat Trailer Parking:  Trailers parked on City of Homer land for more than seven consecutive days, May 1 thru September 30 are subject to removal.  Private parking areas are available for long term parking immediately off the Spit on Kachemak Bay Drive and Ocean Drive . 

Parking:  Beginning Memorial Day weekend and ending Labor Day weekend, a fee of $5.00 per calendar day will be charged in the parking lots at Ramps 1, 2, 3 and 4.  All other Spit parking lots remain 7 days free parking. 

Launch Fees: Vessels launched from trailers are charged $12.00 per day for use of the Load and Launch Ramp.  A seasonal permit for $125.00 is available at the Harbormaster’s Office and entitles a specific vessel and owner to launch from April 1 – October 15.  Reserved stall lessees are exempt from daily and seasonal launch fees for the registered stall vessel only. 

Kid's Don't FloatChildren's PFDs are available for use at several locations in the harbor under the Kids Don't Float program.  State law requires all children under 13 to wear PFDs.  

Moorage Rates: Moorage rates are adjusted annually based on the Consumer Price Index.    Rates are posted on our webpage or call 235-3160. 

 

Harbor Rules & Regulations

No Wake Zones: Within the Small Boat Harbor, all vessels must maintain a "no wake" speed.  "No wake" speed is generally below 2.5 knots and must be maintained until 1/4 mile past the outside docks. 

Registration: All vessels spending a night in the harbor must complete a moorage agreement.  Vessels that are properly registered and pay moorage fees in advance receive a discount of $5.00 from the daily rate or $..50/foot from the monthly rate. 

Transient Vessel Parking: Transient moorage space is designated by a yellow bullrail.  Transient vessels should never moor in a reserved stall without prior approval from the Harbormaster's Office.
